Caerhays Gardens
Home to a National Magnolia Collection the gardens here at Caerhays are a spring-time wonderland for visitors. But how many people are really aware of the history behind them and of the immense part the Williams family have played in the introduction of new plants into their everyday gardens.
From late in the 19th century when J C Williams first became involved with gardening at Caerhays to the present day, the Williams family and their garden staff have worked to maintain and improve the gardens.
The support provided to the intrepid plant hunters of the late 19th and early 20th centuries and the care and attention lavished on the plants and seeds brought back, along with the hybridising program which still exists today, mean that Caerhays Castle Garden will continue to not only maintain and care for the older plants but will produce many new varieties in the future.
