Discover heritage, culture, adventure and unparalleled scenery in Cornwall
You might think you are in a different country, so varied is the landscape of Cornwall, so rich the traditions and the heritage which nurture a strong cultural identity.
Our environment has to be the main attraction. Any journey off the beaten track will reveal the secrets of Cornwall: brooding moorland, the Arthurian legends, standing stones, charming hamlets and villages, hauntingly secret valleys, quiet rivers, hidden creeks and coves and unparalleled coastal scenery.
The county's backdrop is, of course, the sea, an ever-present rich maritime heritage and a playground for all ages. The relationship between Cornwall and the sea is inextricably linked and nowhere is this more ably demonstrated than in the interactive displays and exhibitions of the National Maritime Museum Cornwall of which Rose-in-Vale is proud to be a Corporate Founder Member.
Around Cornwall is the South West Coastal Footpath and even a short walk offers astounding, breathtaking views. Small coves, wide sandy beaches, dramatic cliffs and magnificent scenery make up the coastline of Cornwall. You can join the path anywhere along the coast close to Rose-in-Vale. The local stretch from St Agnes Head, under National Trust guardianship, to Perranporth is stunning and our local beaches, Chapel Porth, Perranporth and Trevaunance Cove are a delight.
The area is rich in historic houses and outstanding gardens. Amongst others: The Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Trewithen, Trebah, Glendurgan, Trelissick, Chyverton, Trengwainton, Lanhydrock and many more are a gardener's dream. Rose-in-Vale has special links with many of these gardens and the nature reserves of the Cornwall Wildlife Trust.
Walking is a fascination in Cornwall at any time of the year. A rich kaleidoscope of flora and fauna can be observed along footpaths, tracks and lanes, and the birdwatcher too will not be disappointed. At Rose-in-Vale we offer a collection of special walks which begin and end at the hotel, ensuring that you see the very best of the local countryside and coastline.
No less than six golf courses - links and parkland - are within easy reach and we can arrange tee-off times for you.
Walking, riding and fishing; swimming, surfing and water sports; golf, gliding and scenic flights; museums, exhibitions, theatres, art galleries and first-class tourist attractions... Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter it's all here, close to Rose-in-Vale, waiting for you to discover it all for yourself.
